I Want To Go Deeper

I was offered an opportunity to go to Africa with my church , which I have talked about before. This was going to be a huge sacrifice for me and my family. I felt God calling me to it. I pictured going to the villages and laying my hands on the hurting and praying over them. I pictured holding the sick and praying over them. I also envisioned dancing and worshiping

together. I wanted to die to myself. I thought going over there would bring me the closest to Jesus that I could ever get or imagine this side of Heaven.

I kept thinking of scriptures where Jesus would say come, and they just went. “Come, follow me, “ Jesus said “ and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed Him. Matthew 4:18-20 (NIV)

So Eli told Samuel, “Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, ’Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.” So Samuel went and lay down in his place. 1 Samuel 3:9. (NIV)

The trip ended up getting cancelled for this year, but hopefully next year, God willing, He will send me!
