"Can Prayer Change the Future of America?"

The state of the morality of the United States of America is disturbing to put it nicely. I do not need to get into all the ways the nation has turned from God. Does this concern you? Has fear crept into your mind wondering what one might have to endure because of the wickedness of our nation? I have, and I have great concern over the evil that is flourishing around us.

I began this year in the Word regarding how to pray for America. I felt that Jeremiah would have some good insight on this matter. Jeremiah was seeking the Lord during all the wickedness and idol worship that was going on in Jerusalem and Judah. Jeremiah was grieved and warned the people of God's wrath over and over again. Just as many ambassadors of Christ are doing today; yet no one listens. Every time I would go to pray for our nation, the only words I could speak was for the Lord's protection to be upon myself and my children. The Lord tells Jeremiah several times

"So do not pray for this people nor offer any plea or petition for them; do not plead with me, for I will not listen to you" (Jeremiah 7:16).

I believe the Lord is telling me the same thing. America is not repenting, they are not relenting. Our government and the laws that are being instituted are getting worse daily. The Lord tells Jeremiah,

"If at any time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down and destroyed, and if that nation I warned repents of it's evil, then I will relent and not inflict on it the disaster I planned" (Jeremiah 18:7-8).

Woe to the nation that does evil in the sight of the Lord. We did not learn our lesson from Covid and now we are in what seems to be the most tumultuous election year I believe that we have ever seen.

"I will show them my back and not my face in the day of their disaster" (Jeremiah 18:17).

I believe the Lord's plan is unraveling in front of our very eyes. At this time I believe the Church needs to pray for protection and pray, "Come Lord Jesus Come" (Rev.22:20).

"A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked" (Psalm 91:7-8).

I pray over anyone reading this, that the Lord will protect you and keep you in the coming days and year.

Be blessed
